James
R. (Jim) Cote is the Executive Director, Northeast Operations of the Foundation
for Financial Education, a non-profit speakers’ bureau which conducts workshops
to raise financial awareness and eliminate financial illiteracy. His office is
located in Waltham, MA.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Jim (a Vietnam-era Veteran) joined the US
Marines at age 18 and established a productive and successful military career
earning three meritorious promotions over his peer group. Selected for two
competitive Marine Corps college completion programs, Jim obtained his
Associates, Bachelors, and Masters Degrees while in the service of his country.
The BS degree was conferred by Worcester State University, and the MBA was
conferred by Mary Washington University.
Jim’s professional financial career began in the late 1980’s after his active
Marine service when he moved to Massachusetts, having been selected to join
MetLife in its highly sought after Management Training Program. Specializing in
working with professionals in financial services, Jim has recruited and hired
many successful candidates up through the level of CFO and CEO. Joining the
Foundation for Financial Education in 2010, Jim brings a diverse and lengthy
resume of experience to the F3E organization and looks forward to assisting
workshop attendees with their financial planning.
He is extensively involved in senior executive networking through the Financial
Executives Networking Group (FENG). FENG is a professional networking
association that has been instrumental in putting key executives together for
over 20 years.
Jim and his wife Albie spend their free time enjoying their 10 children and 1
one grandchild.
