Get Project Requirements Right the First Time: Use Cases for Business Requirements

by Lalig Musserian

Understanding and documenting detailed project requirements has never been an easy task, and this scenario continues to be one of the most frustrating project challenges. Change Controls and Scope Creep don't make the process any better and yet both these are almost daily events on most large scale projects.

Understanding what the requirements are, how they are related and how best to document them often makes the difference between project success or failure. Use cases focuses stakeholders and end users on the desired functionality through diagrams and narratives and by involving developers, testers and ultimately end users early on in the Project analysis phase.
